木棧道全長510公尺，以南方松及鐵木原木構造，配合四方涼亭及景觀玻璃燈，營造出浪漫迷人的氣氛。木棧道上常有戶外表演藝術家駐臨，不論是展現個人才華的演出或妙筆彩繪的人像速寫，常獲得遊客的驚嘆喝采！而木棧道更是欣賞淡江夕照的絕佳地點，「淡江夕照」為台灣八景之一，夕陽西下時分，彩霞雛天映照淡水河面炫眼的金光，構成一幅剎那即成永恆的唯美畫面，總令人難以忘懷。為了服務遊客，於木棧道下有商店街，提供咖啡、美食、風味小吃，還有自行車出租。
