The small church, built in 1140, has some fascinating stained glass windows. It was extensively repaired and renovated around the turn of the Millennium through a generous grant from English Heritage and the valiant fund-raising efforts of the local community. It is a grade 1 listed building, dating back possibly to the 12th century. It is certain people have been worshipping God here for at least 1,000 years as shown by the "Viking" cross still in the Churchyard. In fact, it is almost certainly a pagan site pre the Christian era, and people have been worshipping here for many millennia.
