Krusedol Monastery is located on the slopes of Fruska Gora hill, near the town Irig. Monastery was founded by Maxim Brankovic. He built the monastery with his mother Angelina in the 16th century. The monastery was destroyed several times in history, the largest was in 1716. when the Turks burned the monastery together with the relics Brankovic. Renewal of the monastery began in 1722. and lasted until the 18th century. Then the monastery got it’s present Baroque appearance.
