The church of the formr Dominican monastery in Esslingen was ordained in 1268 by Albertus Magnus. As a three-aisled, cross-vaulted columned basilica she embodies the ideal of church-building the first heyday of the mendicant order and is also one of the earliest Gothic churches in Germany.
