Burwood Cemetery - Laci Denise Rocha grave
California

The grave of Laci Denise Rocha & her unborn son Conner are located here at Burwood Cemetery near Escalon, California.  Most Americans would remember her by the name Laci Peterson who along w/ her unborn son were murdered by her husband Scott Peterson in December 2002.  Their remains would not be found until four months later by walkers along the San Francisco Bay shore near Richmond.  Her husband was at the time involved in an extramarital affair & was later arrested in La Jolla, California w/ a lot of evidence pointing that he was planning to flee the country into Mexico.  Her disappearance & murder became an extremely publicized event & is still well-known by most Americans to this day.  The case has also led to the creation of the Unborn Victims of Violence Act in 2004 which recognizes embryos or fetuses in utero as legal victims of crimes.  In this view, her grave is located in a peaceful quiet cemetery w/ a light afternoon breeze.  The case of Laci Peterson reappeared into the spotlight in August 2018 following the Watts Family Murders, a similarly publicized case that took place in Frederick, Colorado.
