Basillica in Wabierzyce (Albendorf)
Poland

Wambierzyce (German Albendorf) is a small village near Radkov (Kłodzko County) in west-southern part of Poland. It is known because of a basilica from the XVIII century, and about 100 shrines forming the Calvary. Therefore, this village is called also the Silesian Jerusalem.

Basillica in Wambierzyce is a target of pilgrimage for centuries. The reason for this is supposedly an existing message from the twelfth century that on the place, where now stands the basilica, the blind John of Ratna miraculously have regained his sight, and in his eyes appeared the figure of the Virgin Mary. This is the reason for the existence of Marian devotion in this place.

Today's basilica ( dates from the eighteenth century) is dedicated to the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.
