TAGANGA BAY
Taganga is a township in the District of Santa Marta, in the Department of Magdalena (Colombia) 1 Located in the bay of the same name, is surrounded by mountains with cactus vegetation and small trees, as trupillo, and shrubs.
Origin of the word "Taganga"
You could have two meanings, the first says that could mean "Serranía of snakes" derived from indigenous words that would boost culture are Ta-gunmy where "Ta" means hill and "Gunmy" snake or serpent. This would have a reason to hold on to the hills that surround it, abounded many animals of this species.
The second had to do with the etymology of the word indigenous where "Ta" is a starter and "Ganga" is the sea, which would place or site where it enters the sea.
