View over the Blue Lagoon, Abereiddy, Pembrokeshire
Wales

The ‘Blue Lagoon’ is a former coastal slate quarry that was deliberately breached to use as a sheltered harbour for fishing boats. The circular deep water haven, surrounded by sheer cliff faces, was formed after decades of industrial mining with the distinctive blue-green colour of the water caused by the build-up of minerals after being flooded in 1910.
