The St. Thomas of Villanova parish was established as such on October 20, 1852 by Decree 010, as recorded in the archives of the Curia of the Diocese of Valledupar.
Some data collected from an almanac that erection historic places around the years 1917 or 1918, of course there is a significant gap of 66 years. The data held by the diocesan curia are credible since the erection of a parish is an official act of this. Review also makes the almanac says that the temple collapsed immediately after a Mass and was taken to repair mannered generous Lady Antonia Nunez Daza
