Glasgow Cathedral is, strictly, no longer a cathedral as it has not been the seat of a bishop since the late 1600's. The patrons saint of Glasgow, St Mungo, is buried in the crypt located in the cathedral and the church is reputedly built on the site of St Mungo's first church.
