A view of Chundavurrai Tea Estate as seen from the Munnar-Top Station Road. These Tea estates in and around Munnar were developed by the British ICS Officer HG Turner along with AW Turner. They started the Kannan Devan Plantations in the 1880s growing a mix of coffee, sisal and cardamom which by 1910 were mostly converted into tea gardens we see now.
