This valley northeast of Akaka falls provides a respite on hot days. This is just off of the loop trail, a .4 mile loop that takes you around the area, which either begins or ends with the falls themselves.

On the loop, you can see the distant, beautiful Kahuna Falls, but the main attraction is Akaka Falls, which plunges 442 feet down the gorge into the stream below.
