Getting a little too close to the edge to view High Force, Teesdale, County Durham, England
England

Getting a little too close to the edge to shoot a panorama of High Force in Teesdale. One of England's biggest waterfalls* occurs where the River Tees spills over the edge of a band of hard Whin Sill rock, cascading into a deep plunge pool over twenty metres below.

Unfortunately when we arrived the gloom had descended and a few unwelcome spots of rain were starting to make their presence known, so I had to shoot this rather hurredly. Next time I'll try the opposite bank, at a lower position, for a different perspective.

*A subject of much debate: although High Force is much celebrated as one of England's largest waterfalls, others are higher. The Wikipedia entry for High Force is here, and this covers this contentious issue in more detail.
