Blomsholms Stenskeppet ('Stone ship') can be found in western Sweden, in Västra Götaland County, about 150 km north of Gothenburg, not far from the Norwegian border. It's a prehistoric grave and one of the largest stone ships in Sweden. It's one of the best known ancient remains in Bohuslän, but despite this, authorities know surprisingly little about it. Stenskeppet has not been excavated and there are no known finds which can be attributed to it.
There are number of legends and traditions about Stenskeppet. One of these traditions claims that Stenskeppet was erected in memory of a bridal train which perished here. Others say that a Viking chief or seafaring hero is buried in the ship, perhaps together with his men.
