At the annual Akha hill-tribe swing festival, held at the end of August or beginning of September wherever the Akha people are. Thailand, Myanmar, Laos. Enjoyed by adults and kids, but once the festival is over, usually held for from three to five days, the swing cannot be used. The poles are left up but the rope is removed. A new swing is constructed each year using one of the old poles.
