These coaches were built around 1985 by portuguese company Sorefame for the CP, at that time Caminhos de Ferros de Portugal (today Comboios de Portugal) Due to the progress of the alignment improvements of the main line from Lisbon to Porto these coaches can now finally run with their projected speed of 200km/h, making Lisbon to Porto with about 10 intermediate stops in around 3h.
