In summer and occasionally in winter the Japan Rail company operates this steam train and this is the end of the line in Rankoshi. From here the the train gets towed backwards to Kutchan where it eventually gets turned around and  powers itself back to Sappaoro via otaru...i think.

I also most missed getting back on while i was shooting this pano and in my rush to get back on board forgot to shoot the nadir.
