Below The Palisades
Arizona
The high cliffs on river left upstream of the Little Colorado River continue downstream past the LCR to Palisades Creek and then on down to about 75 mile Creek. The cliffs are the same, but their name changes from one side of the LCR to the other. On the north side of the LCR they are called the Desert Facade. On the south side of the LCR they are called The Palisades of the Desert. No matter the name, the top of the cliffs are about 3,500 feet above the river level at this location. The Palisades of the Desert tower over hikers as they traverse down the Beamer trail towards Palisades Creek.
