Balestrand stands in a beautiful location with an enchanting backdrop of mountains. It overlooks the Sognefjord, the longest fjord in Norway, second in the world only to the Scoresby Sund in Greenland. From the center of the village it is possible to make a pleasant and easy trekking that offers a breathtaking view.

Balestrand can also be reached by boat from Bergen.
