The Laemmerbuckel is known to motorists by the identical Laemmerbuckel tunnel at the vertex of the A8 motorway (directional road to the south). If you have this happened, you have the worst, namely the Albaufstieg, managed and it goes to Ulm downhill again.

If you leave the car, you have from here a very nice view over the Alb landscape.
