Liverpool SuperLamBananas
England

7 of the "Eight for 08 Superlambananas" standing outside the Cunard Building on The Strand in Liverpool. The eighth titled "Architecture" (design by Debbie Ryan), was sent to the Shanghai World Expo in May 2010 to be put on show in the Liverpool Pavilion which was sited within the Urban Best Practice Area. These 2 meter high "minature" replicas are painted in designs inspired by drawings made by the people of Liverpool. The "original" Superlambanana is, as the name suggests, a cross between a lamb and a banana, painted bright yellow, standing 17 feet (approx. 5 meters) tall and weighs nearly 8 tons (approx. 8000 kg) it was created by the Japanese artist Taro Chiezo, and is currently (Nov 2010) standing outside Liverpool John Moores University on Tithebarn Street.
