A 150' aerial view overlooking Shasta, California. From the 1850s to the 1880s, the community was a bustling mining town & was once the county seat topping out with 3,500 residents. The oldest Masonic Lodge in California remains today. Eventually in 1888 the county seat was moved to nearby Redding. This view shows original foundations of 19th century brick buildings, part of Shasta State Historic Park. The area was burned from the 2018 Carr Fire & the population recorded 1,043 residents as of 2020.
