Here in front of the Peruvanam Mahadeva Temple elephants have been arriving in the back of trucks as they are getting ready for their pooram, and there are many more behind the temple. This festival has about 20 well decorated elephants in it. Once you go through the temple gates the place is illuminated with torches and thousand of candles around the main temple building.
