Marcy Summit
Hudson Valley
This is taken at the summit of Mount Marcy, the highest point in New York State at an elevation of 5,344 feet above sea level. It is the highest non-appalachian peak in the eastern United States; frequented by in-state, out of state, and international hikers, the most common approach is a 15-mile round trip with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain up the Van Hoevenberg Trail.
