Villanueva, Guajira (Officially, Santo Tomas de Villanueva) is a Colombian municipality founded on January 16, 1662 by Spanish Don Roque de Albaque. It is located south of the department of La Guajira. Its county seat is located in the foothills of the Perijá.
Its population is concentrated especially in the urban area (although most activity is centered on agriculture and livestock).

Coming this international quality festival will be conducted in the main square of the town to perform at The Cradle of Accordions park, which is being built on the former IDEMA, on the left bank of the river villanueva.
