View from Big Hill in Stawell
Victoria

Panoramic views from Big Hill Lookout in Stawell, Victoria, Australia. It is for its uninterrupted 360 degree views over the Black Range and the ranges of the Grampians National Park that Big Hill is also the location of a Fire Tower.

Founded in 1853, Stawell is one of the few remaining towns with an active gold mine. Stawell is located in the Wimmera region of western Victoria, approximately 240 kilometres west northwest of Melbourne.

Victoria's mainland and islands have a total length of 2,512 kilometres coastline which is about 4.2% of Australia's 59,736 kilometres of coastline. Australia is the driest inhabited continent and Victoria is no exception although the state capital Melbourne has the reputation to have 4 seasons in one day. Victoria is located in the southeast of mainland Australia and includes the most southern point on mainland Australia at Wilsons Promontory National Park.
