Messerschmitt BF 109 - Look at the landing gear
Franconie

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most important fighter of the German Luftwaffe. From 1937 to 1945 about 33,000 units were built; more than any other fighter in WW2. The landing gear consists two laterally retractable suspension struts and a non-retractable tail wheel. The operation of the suspension is carried out by pressure oil. Upon failure of the landing gear the system can be operated by hand.
