“Klingenberg” is on the right bank of the River Main in the county “Mildenberg”. Only 40 meters above the city stands Castle Clingenburg. From the original Hohenstaufen castle (built in 1100) survived the archway and the massive foundations of the round turret. In 1891 a theater play was staged at the castle. The Clingenburg Festival was born with annual musicals, operas and concerts.
