Umtentweni Beach is a favorite among locals, particularly surfers and body boarders.  The natural protected rock pools offer a safe bathing area for childern and older people who would not like to be battered by the strong waves.

Shark nets are installed, and lifeguards on duty during peak times to ensure a safe beach experience.

The Umtentweni Shop on the beach provides much needed refreshments, and braai facilities are available under the large trees.
