St. Leodegar Church is located in Luzern, Switzerland, was founded in the mid-eighth century, part of a German Renaissance monastery, around which was founded the city of Luzern. The monastery was largely destroyed by fire in 1633, only the towers, the altar of St Mary and some religious objects remained in the church that exists today.
The present church was built in parts from 1633 to 1639 in Gothic style is known for its magnificent organ and is a very important landmark in the city of Luzern.
