The township of Swansea is a coastal town on the east coast of Tasmania about 134 kilometres north east from Hobart. Swansea is located on the coast of Oyster Bay overlooking Freycinet National Park. The town was settled as a military post in 1827 and features historic buildings and is a holiday destination for beach holidays.
