Dylan Thomas Memorial Shelter, Cwmdonkin Park
Wales

The Dylan Thomas Memorial Shelter at Cwmdonkin Park, Uplands, Swansea, Wales. The park was his favourite childhood haunt and was mentioned in several poems and radio broadcasts during his life. To the south is the wide sweep of Swansea Bay and The Mumbles with the pier, 2 islands and lighthouse. Dylan Thomas was a poet and writer born in nearby Cwmdonkin Drive on 27th October 1914. A popular writer worldwide, some of his more well known works are the play "Under Milk Wood" and the poems "Do not go gentle into that good night", "And death shall have no dominion". He died on 9th November 1953.
