Stansbury Tourist Information
Yorke Peninsula

Stansbury is a small town and popular holiday destination on the Yorke Peninsula only 210km

north-west of Adelaide.

The town was proclaimed in 1873 and named after a friend of South Australia's governor

Musgrave. Stansbury has shady stands of Norfolk Pine, historic buildings, safe sandy swimming

beaches, good fishing and other water sports.

Lime was quarried from the cliffs at Stansbury and while it remains a service centre for the

surrounding farms, oyster farming and tourism play an increasing role in the development of the town.
