The View above Siula Punta
Peru

The crowning moment on reaching Siula Pass ( 4,830 m ) is somewhat an anticlimax for the view is rather restricted there. A side trip along a small footpath to the north on a rugged ridge turned out to be more rewarding with extensive views of the valleys below - I have no clue as to the names of the lakes dotting here and there nor to the peaks except the ones near the pass - but the view is still superb nonetheless. The alternative route which is less photogenic and bypasses this rather difficult pass is via the trail near the lake down below apparently - the highest point then is only 4600m.
