Panagyurishte view from the memorial complex Apriltsi in a spring afternoon. This panorama is shot on the historical place "Manyovo hill" where on April 30, 1876 were fought the bloody battles of the April uprising against the Ottomans. Nowadays there exists the memorial complex "Apriltsi". At its foot is the oldest Panagyurishte church "St. Theodore Tyron", built in the mid 16th century. Next to it is found the "Holy Virgin" church, which is unique with its murals. The domes of the latter are made of gold. Here is the cathedral of Panagyurishte "St. George", situated in the center of the town. Meters of it is visible the ensemble museum and the memorial plaza with Rayna Kniaginia ("Kniaginia" translates "Princess") monument. Panagyurishte's town holiday is celebrated on May 2, which is the anniversary of the outbreak of the April uprising. In the old calendar it is April 20.
