Turanj is a settlement in the southern suburb of the city of Karlovac in Croatia. During the Croatian War of Independence (1991-1995) the defense line that protected the approach to the city itself, stretched through this settlement. Today there is an open-air exhibition of armaments used in the war. The surrounding buildings are deliberately left unrenewed to testify the scale of war destruction. Note that some exhibits, like M4 Sherman tank and M36 tank destroyer, are WWII production.
