This is near the starting point for the walks found in the Tollymore Country Park , near Newcastle , Co.Down . These consist of 4 main walks , ranging from the short (Arboretum and Forest Plots Trail) which is 1 mile long to the longest (Long Haul Trail) which is 8 miles in length .

My personal favourite is the River Trail which takes in most of the bridges on the length of the Shimna River . These are the Ivy Bridge , Parnell's Bridge , Altavaddy Bridge , Spinkwee Bridge and Foley's Bridge

From the trails , much stunning scenery can be found including the Mourne Mountains and several old stone bridges throughout the park . The Isle of Man can also be seen from the higher viewpoints
