The Staircase of Our Lady d'Alegria is located in Riodades, council of São João da Pesqueira, district of Viseu. This staircase with 365 steps and several levels gives access to the Chapel of Our Lady d'Alegria and the top of Monte da Virgem. This is a really pleasant place, from which you can contemplate a wonderful landscape. The Our Lady d'Alegria Staircase is a fantastic work, built by the honorable Mr. Acácio da Luz Sobral was started in 1964 and opened in 1966, it should also be noted that the entire village was involved in the construction of this emblematic work, and the Parish Priest of Riodades was Priest Mr. José da Silva, later Canon of Vila Nova de Foz Côa.
