Winter 2006 was very cold on Sazava. The river was frozen for more than 3 months which is not usual. It was so frozen for much of this time that people were walking and skating on the river with joy. It was the first time I realized that such cold temperatures can be much more enjoyable, because the landscape is so altered by ice that the river becomes a source of great amusement. (The ducks however were not so happy...)
