Captain George Cemetery is located south of Genoa, Nevada alongside Highway 206.  It remains relatively unmarked & the small site contains the graves of several members of the Donner party including Captain George Donner himself, who among half of the party were trapped in the high Sierras during the winter of 1846-47, having to resort to cannibalism at times for survival.  George Donner died of starvation on March 28, 1847 - while his grave is located here it is either not marked or was hidden underneath the snow the day of my viist.
